The Olympic Games is both the dream of men and the aspiration of nations to display the best of a given countries people and to hope that the best is good enough to beat the rest. In recent times this massive gathering of humans unites generally all people of the world for a common cause for a specific period of time. The Olympic Games are considered on of the best indicators of how countries regard each other.
The Olympics is the people of one nation rising as the flag of another nation with whom they have been bitter enemies is raised. It is peoples from many nations standing together as one anthem after another is played standing in shared exultation for the dreams of individuals, the dreams of nations, and the dreams of the entire human. The games begin upon the lighting of the Olympic Flame and close when the flame is dimmed and a single runner takes a tourch and begins the long run to the next city where the games will be run in four years.
